Fifi and Stephanie Fifi, at a spry ten years of age, is our oldest dog. She is the personal poodle of Stephanie, who at five years old chose (and named!) her very own dog! Fifi and Steph have had many adventures together. I'm going to share some photos from over the years, along with a few pieces I've written about them, here on Fifi's own webpage! Fifi's dad is a big, fluffy, foo-foo, prancing poodle. But obviously, since Fifi is here as living proof, he is NOT a poof-y poodle! When he isn't winning "best in show" at Westminster, "Peter" as he is known by his pitbull friends, enjoys playing rugby, slamming back "Fosters" at the pub, bungee jumping, and having his hair done. Fifi's mom Sassy met Peter for the first time on the day of their arranged marriage. They seemed to hit is off very well; Sassy was quite impressed with Peter's pom-pons, and Peter thought Sassy was--well... sassy! 64 days later Peter was gone, never to be seen again, but Sassy was blessed with a lovely litter of bouncing baby poodles. Raising seven children without a father was hard work, but Sassy was a devoted mother. Fifi left home while she was still just a young girl, moving in with us, her new people family! Though she never did meet her father, Fifi is quite proud of her genetic heritage. When asked what made her such a good dog, she always gives the same answer: Stephanie's love, Peggy's training, and Mom!

Though she was happy in her new home, Fifi dreamed of more. Perhaps it was in her blood; after all, her father was said to be the most show-winning standard poodle of all time. Fifi brought her discontent to the attention of her young human, Stephanie, and discovered Steph felt the same way! Together they conspired, finally coming up with a solution: too happy at home to run away and join a circus, they decided instead to start their own circus, out in Peggy's kennel. Not only would this create the much needed challenge and excitement Fifi and Stephanie craved; it also provided entertainment to the lonely, bored kennel inmates. Stephanie and Fifi's Amazing Poodle Circus was a huge hit, and though they have long since retired from show biz, both of them look back fondly upon their circus days.
